Okay, anons, I have a serious request.

I want to RP, but I don't know how to find anyone willing to RP the modern assassins or others in an AU setting or otherwise. Does anyone have any suggestions to find a partner? Is anyone here willing? I don't know where to begin, but I've had enough failures to make me believe that I'm not really worth much as an RP partner, despite my fills on the kinkmeme being good enough to warrant praise.

It sounds like a good idea but I am not sure if that'd be feasible - like, without too much hassle.
(Though it'd be good, as it'd help us to keep track. I don't know for you, but I tend to lose my own fills... all the time.)

Though I only track a few fills, I'm subscribed to every part and the discussions so that I wouldn't miss these! Though all I do AC-wise is AU RPs of the AC2/ACB Modern Times quartet...

So there is this awesome place called Volante Design (Journal: http://blog.volantedesign.us / Store: http://www.volantedesign.us), where you can find amazing, custom fitted hoodies and jackets based on comics and games. There is one entitled the Kenway (http://www.volantedesign.us/?wpsc-product=kenway).

As you can see, it is extremely expensive - all the hoodies/jackets are (most ordered through the blog, but the site should be getting the other designs soon.) Most of this is because it's hand made, with high quality materials, and until just recently by one person. (They've just expanded due to demand, and now have three to five guys working on these awesome hoodies.)

The issue? Ever since they were promoted by Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/5942603/) and MTV (http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2012/09/21/volante-design-creates-amazing-assassins-creed-jackets/) and their popularity increased, there are Chinese knockoffs exploding on eBay, and other "legitimate" sites. I've been going through and reporting each hoodie that I've seen pop up on ebay (and I think I ended up forcing a couple of them to block "Contact the Seller on this Listing." I think I was irritating them...ha!)

All I'm asking is that we support the real creators, and report the counterfeit ones:
(just cut and paste the numbers into ebay's search, it should pull up the listing.)

Unfortunately, there isn't an easy way to report users, unless you're the original owner of whatever the seller is infringing on.

I'll keep this as updated as I can, at the same time as my Tumblr.

As much as I find this disdainful, I doubt there's anything we can do to stop the people from China creating knockoffs, and I'm afraid announcing their existence like this is just giving them more exposure. $320 for a jacket is crazy expensive, so people who don't want to pay that much will be happy to know there's an alternative. It also looks like this isn't even remotely affecting VD's sales, lol. People will get what they pay for, and I won't be surprised if what they get from the Chinese knockoff sellers is of much lower quality.

VD seems to have gone through the proper channels to try and get the stolen designs off the market, and anything more than that (a public call to arms, etc), is just giving the knockoff-makers more exposure, and thus, more sales. IMHO, just let the legal process take its course for now.

Any little bit helps in reporting. And yes, people purchasing from them will probably get what they pay for.

I've also been forwarding these new sellers to VD, just in case that the haven't been noticed already. No reply back, but then VD was going to a con - NYCC, I believe, which will be ending soon. (Or I was just getting ignored...highly probable - happens to me a lot IRL and on Net. *shrugs* Frustrating, but something I've had to learn to live with.)

Well, sales of the Kenway hoodie have been put on hold until they can meet the demand of the first batch (with the promotion from those news blogs, VD kinda got a mass of orders.) But it wasn't until after that, that the explosion of knockoffs hit. Any little bit that is taken away from a starter company has the potential to hit pretty hard.

And actually, the knockoff postings have slowed. So either they're getting tired of all the reporting (I'm not sure if hitting "report" actually pings on their listing), or they've changed their listing/tags so much that my saved searches can't pull the new ones up. And considering how many variations I've saved, that could also mean they aren't getting hits from other people as well. Or they've moved onto another site (but my googling isn't pulling up very many of those, if so.)

I know that people are finishing the game and excited to post prompts for the new game, but any way we can hold off on posting said prompts for a while? For a couple weeks at least? Or maybe do a font color change to hide your prompt from people? (or maybe a new thread entirely from the mod to separate?)

Posting warnings is awesome (thanks to those of you that are making that effort), but since everything I see is through my inbox, I actually hit the spoilers while scrolling through it (so the initial warning posts are hitting under the spoiler prompt post, along with any responses to said spoiler post before that.)

Or, does anybody know how to re-sort the inbox so that the later posts are at the bottom of the inbox? (I don't want to unpin the entire prompt post, it's easier to hit prompts and any fills of my prompts in my inbox, but I'm getting the feeling that this is the only way to avoid this. >n<)

As fir how this works basically my best experience is having an in depth discussion on headcanon and setting guidelines.

Hopefully someone actually looks at these post but I was wondering how many people would actually be interested in things like indigenous writing/visual sovereignty/events that are currently going on. I am concerned that now that AC3 is out everyone will stop caring about Native America/Alaskan/Hawaiian issues in the US and Canada. Connor's issue with land grabbing was just the tip of the ice burg and it's great that the whole fandom has show at least a slight interest in it (abet some more...forceful and misplaced than others). If enough people are interested I might open a personal dreamwidth where I'll place links to historical and contemporary Native issues.
I'm not a social justice blogger fyi. I just like informing people I try and keep my personal opinions to myself unless someone says something stupid and purposefully ignorant, then I get a little offended being of Native Hawaiian, Cherokee, and African American decent.

Is there a secret trove of AC3 fic I am just not finding? I've been hovering around the meme and I stopped by ff.n (for the first time in years, then backpeddled heavily) but I am just not finding anything. If anyone has any recs, that'd be great.

I'm pretty sure this meme IS the secret trove right now. AC3 is brand new, and most PC gamers won't even have finished it yet (it comes out today, I think?) Your best bet is to follow the meme. We've already got some great fics in part 5, and if you want something specific you could try prompting it.

Could we possibly institute a trigger warning policy? When I'm looking through comments regularly its not an issue because I read the prompt first, but when I'm browsing the meme in flat view, that is not the case.

I do not personally have any triggers, but I ask because I know people who do, and I personally don't always want to read non con. So if people could just like... mention triggers in the subject, or a header, or whatever, I'd really appreciate it.

Also, I did not see a mod post? If someone could link me to it, I'd be happy to repost this there.
