Charles will definitely need to re-adjust what he thinks. It hasn't completely sunk in yet for him (why this piece still has a ways to go) that he's going to seriously need to change his expectations. He knows the consequences of what happened before, but it hasn't quite sunk in that it needs an adjustment from him to avoid those consequences.
