The original chapter was going to be different (more plotting, Charles actually going after Franklin and more fighting), but I was so tired by the time I lost it that I wrote something shorter and fluffier.

And yes, Haytham Kenway is a complicated being. He really does care and love and feel...he's just good at pushing all of that aside when push comes to shove.
