Petshop of Horrors xover, Haytham & creature! Connor

Ziio has broken up with Haytham for several years now and Haytham spends most of his time building up the Order. Partly this is because of his dedication to the Templar order, but if he has to be truthful to himself, it's partly to drown himself in work and dull the pain of losing Ziio. One day, to escape an onslaught of heavy rain that's soaking right through his coat, he takes shelter in an odd little shop called "Count D's Petshop".

He finds the shopkeeper most peculiar. For one thing, he's the only Chinese guy (or East Asian in general) around. For another thing, he's offering him a "perfect" pet. Haytham's doubtful about the rather strange guy but decides that it polite to look since the rain doesn't seem to be letting up outside (Boston weather and all that). So he follows this 'Count D' person to the back of the shop (that is waaayyyy bigger than he thought it would be), and Count D points out his "perfect pet".

It's a boy in the clothes of a Mohawk native that looks almost exactly like what Haytham and Ziio's son would look like, if they had one. He's even roughly the age that Haytham last saw Ziio at.

But no, the Count insists that the boy is a pet and points to the boy's head, where Haytham makes out a pair of wolf ears. The Count also lifts something dark and furry off of the chair that the boy is sitting on and, to Haytham's surprise, he realizes that the boy has a wolf's tail as well.

Somehow, Haytham's not sure, but he winds up taking the boy with him (he's puzzled by the concept of a petshop that doesn't charge any money). But there are three conditions:

1) Do not feed the pet chocolate
2) Allow the pet to hunt his own prey for food purposes in the Frontier
3) Never betray the pet

So Haytham takes the boy and names him Connor. And things go swimmingly for several years. He's managed to get rid of all the pesky Assassins (rather easily, to his great surprise...they always look like they're mauled by wild wolves or something). His Templars are doing well and rising within the ranks. And Connor (who he's come to think of like a son) is growing up to be a real asset, reliable, loyal and smart. Haytham follows all the rules (they're not exactly hard, and he scoffs at the possibility of betraying his son).

And then there's talk of conflict with the British, and there's violence in the streets. And the Assassins suddenly appear again. One of them is, in fact, one of Connor's friends, and Connor asks Haytham, out of sentiment, to spare the Assassin. Haytham finds he can't say no to his son, but secretly has the Assassin killed anyways. He figures that what Connor doesn't know can't hurt him.

Haytham's completely forgotten about the 3rd clause of the contract, and everything goes to shit.
