Maybe a rule for and adopt-a-fill thread could be that authors dump fics into them that they know they won't finish? That way there are no hurt feelings? I like the idea of a thread like this, but I don't think that it should be a free for all for people to "finish" off fic, unless they have permission to do so by an author. Fics are our babies, and even when we give up on them, we want to make sure that they are taken care of.

I also second the idea of a discussion post. I made the mention of it a long time ago, but it never went through. Maybe if someone gets hold of forkinsocket?
