Betrayal
(Anonymous) 2011-11-25 03:31 am (UTC)(link)It leads to a final battle where he's forced to kill his only remaining family member. Don't have her be a pushover in the fight - at least let her do some significant damage to Ezio, or even defeat him for a twist. The outcome of it is up to you.

(Anonymous) 2011-11-27 08:30 am (UTC)(link)------------------------------------------
Claudia hated Monterrigioni.
She hated why they were there, she hated her mother for abandoning her, she hated Ezio for leaving to pursue revenge when their shamble of a family was only falling apart even more, and she especially hated the stupid architect who was constantly trying to get her to bed him.
No one ever noticed her, paid her any attention whatsoever. It started out as just annoyance, then frustration, until finally hatred. Caring for mother was nothing but a chore now, the woman resigned to simply sit there and stare at feathers until her breath runs out. ‘Uncle’ Mario consistently called her ‘Clarissa’ until she finally snapped, and even then he only referred to her as ‘Nipote’ or ‘Bambina’, both despised terms.
And Ezio only ever visited to help rebuild Monterrigioni and to make it seem like he cared. Even the two years he stayed there before returning to Firenze was spent training from dawn till dusk, undermining her when she offered to help.
Claudia hated all of them for putting her in this position. She felt so useless, sitting behind a desk all day whilst big brother did all the work, constantly being told of Ezio’s good deeds when the bastardo left her to rot here.
Maybe that’s why this stranger’s offer sounded so tempting.
“You’re in a very interesting position, Madonna. One we could use to our advantage.” She couldn’t see his face, shrouded in darkness it was. There was no one else in the room, the architect having left to ‘prepare himself for tonight’. If that stronzo tried anything on her, Claudia would rip his balls off. Mario was outside, training with his men. He didn’t even know about the visitor.
“What do you want of me?” Claudia was suspicious, but mildly interested. A chance to get back at those who’d forgotten her, written her off as useless? She certainly wasn’t going to turn the stranger down without at least hearing him out.
“To start with, information. Once you prove yourself, however, we’ll be glad to use your talents for more practical objectives.” The stranger purred, and Claudia saw his lips quirk at the edges. Practical objectives? Was this her chance to show Ezio that she wasn’t some weak woman constantly in need of protection? That woman died with her brothers and father. Now, now she was open to all suggestions.
“And what information could I possibly contain that is useful to whoever you represent?” This offer was sounding more and more tempting, but betraying her remaining family wasn’t something she wished to do, not without good reason.
“The group I represent, you may refer to us as ‘the Order’, have different ideals than your brother and uncle. I will not lie to you, our methods are forceful and harsh, but then again, so are the methods of the Assassins. All we ask is that you inform us of any movement discussed by your famiglia. Once you’ve proven yourself loyal to us, we shall welcome you as a Knight Templar, and allow you to train as one of us, learn our methods.”
“Do you mean, killing people?” Claudia wasn’t a killer, spiteful against her family, yes, but to go so far as take a life?
“Not if we can prevent it. The Knights Templar treasures all life, we fight to maintain peace. Subdue, but not kill. Assassin’s, on the other hand... They are free game. Never will they stop, so long as they live. They must die to ensure the future of humanity.” Claudia thought, her mind jumping between conclusions and unsure of what to tell this stranger who offered her an escape from Monterrigioni and her family of backstabbers and secrets.
“I can see you have a lot on your mind. Please, meet me here when you have decided.” The man pulled out a scroll, upon which a simple address was adorned. When she looked back up, bursting with questions, the stranger was gone. Claudia didn’t even hear him leave.
