(Anonymous) 2011-12-07 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)Something based on this art perhaps, whether during the "scheduled for deletion" scene or not; Sixteen having a spontaneous waltz with Desmond, or really any sort of sweet moment between the two. I just need something fluffy with these two, help.
DO want

"Where is that music coming from?"
It sounds like an old gramophone recording, maybe from the forties. It's tickling Desmond's mind with the hint of a memory that he just can't catch.
"What music?"
Sixteen is inscribing binary equations in the sand. He was reprogramming grass parameters, before it got boring. Desmond, for his part has been lying on his back trying to make out shapes in the data clouds. So far he's invented at least three impossible creatures and will swear until his dying day that he saw a pepperoni pizza.
"That music," Desmond says when he hears it again. "Are you- You're humming along!"
Sixteen gives him a startled look. "What? Am I? Oh."
Desmond pushes himself up. "Don't 'oh' me. What is it? Why is it playing?"
Sixteen looks a little perplexed for a moment, like he's thinking, or sorting if then else statements in his head.
"Oh," he says finally. "I remember it! Or, well, not me, exactly. One of my ancestors was an entertainer. Or a spy. No, wait, I think he was both."
"Really?" Desmond asks. "Cool. What was he like, do you remember?"
Sixteen smiles then, a little wistfully. "A real ladies man. He liked to dance. This was his favourite song."
"You learned to dance?"
"Sure," Sixten says. "Come on, I'll show you."
And before Desmond can say two left feet, Sixteen is up, over and swooping down to catch at Desmond's arm and haul him up as well. One of his arms slides around Desmond's waist as easy as you please, pulling him close, and the other takes his hand and then suddenly, without Desmond quite knowing how, they're spinning, around and around and around, step step-step, one two three, back forward, one two three, spin.
"Stop it!" Desmond objects, but they're spinning so fast he's laughing as he says it. "Stop!"
"Why?" Sixteen grins down at him. "What for? Isn't this fun?"
Desmond takes a breath, because Sixteen isn't asking a rhetorical question there.
"Yes, it's fun," Desmond agrees. "This is what fun feels like. But two guys don't usually..."
"Oh, please," Sixteen scoffs lightly, smirking. "Homophobia? From you? That's a bit rich, isn't it?"
"Hey!" Desmond objects.
"I'm just saying," Sixteen says breezily, spinning Desmond around the clearing yet again. "It's not the first time you've tangoed with another boy, now is it Desmond."
Desmond huffs. "This is not the tango," he points out. "And if you don't stop teasing me, I won't let you kiss me at my door at the end of the night."
Sixteen just laughs, and spins him around again.

(Anonymous) 2011-12-08 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)So perfect. And adorable. I love how mundane and ordinary it seems, Desmond just watching the sky and Sixteen programming. I giggled at "Don't 'oh' me." Lovely context for the dancing, too.
BASICALLY, THIS IS PERFECT AND I LOVE YOU.
