I have a fic!bit where Altair sends Rauf to Damascus and tells him it's because the Rafiq annoys him, "and you permit nobody to irritate you."

And Rauf takes all Rafiq's sarcasm literally, and cheerfully, and sarcasm's himright back. But it's all still in planning stages right now.
