OMG I teared up at this chapter, at the very idea of the future of Connor being treated so horribly while raising a child alone. At least he would still have the Homestead and his people, but I never imagined how difficult it would be for business both and land and sea would suffer. Also <3 George for not giving up! Just not sure how he would fix this, Charles is just so diabolically clever and ruthless when there's something that he wants.
