If he thinks this is awful, I wonder how bad he'll react to reading those journals and finds out all those 'romantic' stories he's heard of his father saving his mother and them falling in love was a complete and utter lie.

It might take him a little while to find them, but what else has he to do when his father's still going to be busy, his mother is out of commission, and the entire household is in mourning?

Yeah, and was rereading this part again and totally had young Connor feels, Haytham being dragged away while his mother bled and miscarried was very similar to Connor being dragged away from his mother who was burning alive ;_;
