Anon, are you me? Because ever since I caught Thor on Netflix a few months ago (OMG, SHIRTLESS CHRIS HEMSWORTH *mind temporarily melts*) to get the backstory on the Avengers, I immdediately thought, "Hmm, what if the Asgardians are Those Who Came Before who found some way to escape the solar flare by taking a risk at space travel and they landed on Asgard? Or maybe they're a faction of TWCB who started the war between humans and TWCB because the now-Asgardian faction didn't agree with treating humans like crap? However, they were defeated and they left earth in exile. But always feeling guilty for ditching humans, they returned every so often and guarded them as 'gods.'"

Not to mention that Loki's speeches about how humans are meant to be ruled sound eerily similar to Juno's rantings. Then this whole story about an AC/Avengers cross-over started percolating.

Maybe Nick Fury is the last of the high ranking Assassins and is Desmond's uncle via being William Miles' brother? Maybe the Black Widow is a former Templar who's switched sides? Maybe Captain America's super serum was derived from a POE? Perhaps the mysterious Erudito is Tony Stark, who while neither Templar or Assassin is the chaotic good who agrees with the Assassins...for now? Perhaps Loki, who knows Juno is returning soon (assuming the Avengers happens in real time, his invasion happens the summer before AC3 happens with Desmond and company) sees this as a prime time to re-enslave the humans and take up his birthright with his TWCB cousins? Maybe mutation in the Marvel Universe is actually the genes passed down from when humans and TWCB mated and had children? Assassin Eagle Vision, crazy climbing skills, super human reflexes and so on are a manifestion of the mutation.

Anyway, my mind is spinning. If someone writes this crossover, I will love you forever.
