AH!!! This is amazing writeanon! I love the classes you made the Moderns!

I'm guessing that along w/ his abilities as a Summoner and Thief, Des is also kinda-sorta a Dark Knight-ish class (very minor). And the other three fit their classes. *nods* I'm guessing you mean "Gunner' for Shaun in a more literal sense, than the way the current FF have been taking them (not status altering, like in FFX-2, but like literal gunner a la FFT/FFTA.)

Also the bit w/ all the various terms for Summons! :D (My favs are Espers and Eidolon, but then FF6 and FF9 are my favs of the FF.)

I've always liked the idea of people having a couple of classes they specialize in - with the exception of the White/Black Mages...because in my headcanon, they're the "priests" of the FF world, and they're the ones that go up to the higher magic levels like Sage/etc, so they kinda have to dedicate a lot of time/study to their one class. (And why Red Mages can do *most* of the spells of either, but not all....and now I'm talking too much again. ^^;)

This is delightful OP, thank you. I'm so glad you're pleased.

I wasn't sure what was going to be the summon at first, I figured I'd just grab one of the more esoteric Guardian Forces from 8, but then Volpe decided he was cool with being a summon, so.

I didn't want to argue with him.

The idea behind Desmond is that's he's solely a Summoner, but he can use his Summons to give himself extra skills. Like Chocobo gives him Speed magic like Haste, for example.

Shaun is indeed just a guy who fights with guns. The 'Blue Mage' part is that, if he knows an enemy well enough, he can replicate their skills. I thought it made sense for him to get magic through research.

Lucy is a Monk/Fighter/Badass who moonlights as a Synthesist, so you better be extra-nice to her or you'll be stuck with your crappy beginner weapons forever.

And Rebecca is a Dragoon because I love her outfit in AC:B, and since she was into extreme sports I could easily see her finding joy in divebombing enemies with a pointy stick.

(My personal fave FF is 10, though the FF7 expanded universe is a lot of fun too.)
