Wait... so Connor's starting to think the idea that Haytham is his father is all in his head? Oh, obviously, with Haytham hitting on him and being completely unaware of it all, he must be so confused...!

And Johnson, stop being so pushy!! XO Well, actually, don't, it works well for your grand plan, but... Oh Connor, I worry about you so much!

(also: Haytham's favourites are the Chaucer? Of course they are. Of course. AND he recommends these to the man for whom English is a second language, too! X_X That's just evil, Haytham!)

About Connor and Haytham, in part 3, Haytham lies and tells Connor he's gay, and then in part 4 a maid-who's-really-a-Templar tells Connor it's true. They were mentioned in passing, and in pretty old-fashioned ways, sorry for not making that clearer! Anyway, I'm glad you like this so much! All these nice comments really make me smile + feel super happy! :3

I don't know if it was intentional, but I like how much sense it makes that Mohawk-raised Ratonhnhaké:ton would be easily taken in by that. Like, a Colonist might well be all "Well, he prefers men, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't feel pressured to sleep with women now and then to keep up appearances". But Connor's background wouldn't have him thinking that, probably, since he's from a culture where that pressure wouldn't really be... there, unless his village was Christianized.

It was only semi-intentional, I'm afraid! Since 90% of this was written really late at night, I was just thinking that Connor is pretty naive for a killing machine. I mean, when he first meets Samuel Adams, he wants to speak with angry guards to tell them he's innocent. So I thought that he might try to get confirmation from someone else, but he wouldn't really question it afterwards, even if the second person is a Templar as well.

To me he's one of those people who finds it hard to believe not everybody is as honest as he is, and wants to believe the best of people. I mean, he goes pretty soft on Johnson and Hickey at first in the game, and only kills them after they've thrown his mercy in his face.
