Oh, dear writer, I don't know how to thank you! I've been feeling really down today, and I figured I'd just check the meme one last time before going to bed -- I'm so glad I did! Thank you so very much for filling my prompt, it's everything I could've wanted and more. I truly love it ♡

*points up* That paragraph right there? Made me cry. I recently lost someone, and that just... summed up a lot of the things I've been feeling.

There were a lot of other things that really got to me as well, but my absolute favorite part was Haytham placing his hat on Connor's head. That was just the most heartbreaking and sweetest and saddest thing, I can't even...! Perfect and IC as well; it genuinely felt like something Haytham would've done. And I love that Connor let Haytham comfort him, allowing the hug and even clinging to him.

The bed-sharing in the end is wonderful, as is the underlying fact that Haytham decided to stick around to keep Connor company for a while. MY HEARTSTRINGS, YOU ARE PLAYING THEM.

Also, there is no need to apologize for anything! I honestly love a father-son relationship between them just as much as a shippy one, and I think your English is really great (it's not my first language either, so I guess we have that in common!). I loved this fic more than I can say; it really made my day -- or rather, more like it made my week, to be honest. I can't thank you enough! I only hope you post this on AO3 or wherever, so I can find out who you are and read your other stuff as well.

Oh dear OP, I'm so glad you like it! ^_^ I feared so much that I wouldn't be able to entertain you somehow, or that I was going to make a terrible mistake somewhere (terrible self confidence in writing, oops).

While I never lost someone actually close to me, I have been to a few funerals of some not so close family members. It's not the same thing when it's someone close to you but it still made me very sad because in one or another, that person is still family and it just means you'll never be seeing them again. I lost my grandfather (he's my stepfather's dad, so we're not really blood related, but still family) at the beginning of the year, so that's pretty much where I drew inspiration to write how Connor felt. I am sorry for your loss OP.

Really? Do you really think my Haytham was okay? I have such a hard time writing snarky characters, lol. Thankfully the mood in this allowed me to explore his more serious side otherwise I just know I'd mess up, oops. But I love Haytham too much not to write him.

I'm glad you liked the hat part, that was something that I literally thought of at the last minute and I was like "should I write this?" I liked how it came out, so I left it.

I can understand why you prompted this. Badass Connor is awesome but I would totally have loved to see him breaking up once or twice in the game just to see that he too is perfectly human and perfectly capable of losing it sometimes. Too bad, but hey, that's what fanfics are for, right?

I have this headcanon that Haytham is the biggest Connor stalker ever. That bastard, pffft. Wasn't there a journal entry or something like that in the game that said Haytham used to keep an eye on him whenever possible or something along those lines? Or did I just imagine that? I totally enjoy Haytham/Connor in any shape and form, haha. Since this was more family related, I might try writing some shippy ones in other prompts.

I do have an AO3 account (just got it at the beginning of the month in fact), but I haven't posted anything up yet (I don't write much in fact, so there's little to show anyway), but I do intend to tweak this up a bit and maybe have my beta help me with it and then I'll post it up, so expect it to show up in the future! This was my first AC fic ever, but I do intend to write more Haytham/Connor because this KM has way too many precious prompts, hehe.
