Erudito.
(Anonymous) 2012-12-14 05:48 am (UTC)(link)I want to see a bit of the history behind Erudito, both the person and the collective (since I think that both are good possibilities). Who is Erudito, and why does he do what he does? Is he a former Assassin? A former Templar? A member of the First Civ? Somebody made immortal by a PoE? Whatever the crazy theory you got is, I wanna see it!

(Anonymous) 2013-02-28 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)It's easy to sneak into the Farm and raise Desmond in place of William Miles. The man knows a lot of things, but raising a child is not one of them, especially given how depressed his wife is, and how cold and callous the rest of the Assassins have become. So he raises Desmond, teaching him songs and lore that he shouldn't know, and won't recall until he comes into contact with the creation known as the Animus, many years later.
It's a big harder to hack into the systems and put things in the order he needs them to be. The Apple has shown him a lot, and Minerva has whispered secrets few would be able to take, but in the end it still takes a bit of guesswork to get things right. Vidic will kidnap the newly-on-the-run Desmond, and Lucy, who will one day become a traitor, will aid in Sixteen's death, and eventually lead Desmond to him - Erudito.
At least that's what everyone else calls him. No on else knows his true name - those that do are dead, either by age or his own hand. As he sits behind the computer screen and watches his boy grow up (yes, Desmond is his child, because blood calls to blood, and no one ever understood Desmond like he did) and smiles as he recalls a few faint memories. The day Desmond got his scar is the most prominent - his fool of a father believed that mindless soldiers were good enough to serve as Assassins until they could rally their numbers again.
But Desmond hadn't been broken, he hadn't bowed like the rest of the children had. And so William had taken to smacking him for his disobedience. It hadn't done what William had thought it would do; if anything, his son only became more fiery, more determined to escape the bars of his cage. When his father had lost his temper during an argument and hit him, his blade had released and sliced Desmond's lip open. It would have gone much higher, if not for him. He had knocked the man's hand down in a split second, too fast for anyone to see, and the blade, which had been aiming for his eye, had hit his lip instead. Desmond hadn't yelled or screamed or even changed his expression; his defiance had blazed bright then. He had spat at his father's feet and then turned and walked off, head held high.
The next night, he was gone.
For a while, Erudito had left him, content with the knowledge that everything would go according to plan for a while, and that he could rest. When he had woken, Desmond had been fleeing Abstergo. From there, the man had put the rest of the blocks in place - showing him memories from past ancestors, and giving him the abilities he needed, slowly honing his blood into something lethal and poisonous. Now Desmond Miles stands as a man against Juno, and he cannot but be happy.
A long struggle is coming. It will take centuries before the world will forget. Erudito knows this, can feel it in his blood. He rubs his arm as he watches the monitor, where the camera records Desmond stabbing Lucy.
Blood will call to blood. He smiles as Desmond regains his body from Juno's control, and reaches forward to press a key on the keyboard. From this point on, he will shadow Desmond, and keep Juno from having her wicked way with him. There is time yet for the future to change, and between him and Desmond, they can cover a lot of ground in a short while. If Juno thinks they will allow her to rule - either he or those sitting in the shadows, waiting for his call - then she is wrong.
Desmond is theirs. Blood calls to blood. Brother protects brother.
Ezio Auditore stands, pulls on the dark hoodie and tugs on his shoes, grabs his bag filled with weapons, and then shuts down his computer and heads out to Monteriggioni. In a few hours he will meet his son again, and then they can finally begin the operation.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-02 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)Until now, I always thought of Erudito as Shaun being himself. Headcanon, that.
But right there, I just have to bow and call you Master. I did not expect it, at all, and it's just great. I am a sucker for Ezio being the awesome Grand Master he is.
It was well-written, also. No really, nothing to say aside from that fact that your fill is awesome! *glomps anon*
