Writer!anon just meant for OP to understand that the perception was different than the way it is seen today. ;)
I guess it was more of a historically charged word vomit since this anon is hugely nerdy about that, and was crazy excited to see a prompt like this.

Anyway, the whole act of men sleeping with other men sexually would be considered sodomy or pederasty. Gratuitous angst, comedy, awww-inducing moments, and religious/spiritual Qur'an-thumping crisis in the fill to come.
