Paul Revere was bored. Really bored. Normally he would go pester Connor, but Connor was on a mission somewhere overseas, leaving the apartment lonely and silent in his wake. Even the numerous cats the duo had refused to make a peep, instead curled up on Connor's bed like so many balls of fluff. None of them liked Paul, so he never went in there when Connor was away.

He had played a few games on the new phone he had bought earlier - that had been fun. Especially that Angry Birds game. Fruit Ninja was fun too, but not as fun. He'd played both games until he became bored again, and then proceeded to sulk in the living room to kill an hour.

Sadly, the sulking was not proceeding as planned. He was bored, and wanted to talk to Connor. Especially Connor, since he was the one who ever listened to him. Everyone else covered their ears (so rude!) when he talked or groaned and ran away, but Connor always crossed his arms and dipped his head to listen. Paul never saw Connor's eyes when he did that, but he knew Connor would never fall asleep when he was talking. He was too good a friend to do that!

What a splendid idea! Surely Connor wouldn't mind him texting? After all, that's what the phone was for!

So he whipped out the phone and began to contact his friend.

PR: Connor! Connor! I had the best idea, you have to listen!
CK: Not now Paul. Mid-mission. Talk later.
PR: But its important! And it'll only take a minute!
CK: Fine but make it quick. I've got a sniper on my tail.
PR: Okay so I was thinking you and me and Haytham and Charles should hang out sometime you know I mean really hang out not like last time where all they did was talk talk talk and we had to listen and they put you down and Charles made you angry and--
CK: Paul
PR:--then Haytham got all smug and started saying that Washington wasn't looking for any limp-wristed fairies or some such nonsense and Charles laughed so hard he fell over do you remember that Connor I remember that that was funny huh--
CK: Paul, stop.
CK: Paul seriously, sniper. Right behind me.
PR:--but back to the idea I had I was saying we should go out and try to communicate you know that's what your mom would want your mom always said that two wrongs don't make a right or something to that effect she was a really nice lady I'm glad I got to meet her before she died--
CK: Oh god.
CK: Oh god please someone make it stop.
CK: Paul stop. Please. I'm bethgingaklsjkd
PR: Connor? You okay? I don't know what bethgingaklsjkd means you'll have to explain it to me.
CK: It doesn't mean anything. I got shot while I was trying to get you to SHUT UP.
PR: Oh. Are you okay?
CK: I got shot in the ass, what do you think?
PR:...Weeeeell, when you get back can we still go out?
CK: ARGH.

Connor didn't text him back after that; when Paul tried to send a message, it said his number had been blocked.

Huh. Now why had Connor done that? "Some people are just rude like that, I guess," he shrugged, and went back to playing Ninja Fruit on his phone.
