Yeah, the silence definitely worked, especially when he couldn't look Charles in the eye. Both Haytham and Charles are in an odd/interesting place because they pretty much have all they wanted: the elimination of the Assassins (this is their second purge together) and a free and independent new country under Templar rule... and yet they're far from satisfied over their guilt at what happened to Connor and the unborn child.
