OP honestly isn't all that experienced with A/O mechanics herself, other than reading others' work, and hadn't given any thought to back story in this instance.

I would say that female alphas can get pregnant, but possibly only from other alphas or betas? I don't buy that omegas can impregnate others. Or maybe they can, but it's very rare, mostly because of the biological drive that wouldn't even bring most alphas to consider it? As for female alphas impregnating others - having both sets of sexual organs is about the only way I can see that happening without some creative thought.

But, come to think of it, maybe Haytham did have Connor, but gave him up (for whatever reason - duty to the Templars, probably, especially if he's hiding the face he's omega, or maybe Ziio forced him to give up his baby?) before Connor presented his dynamic at puberty. Haytham didn't ever expect to see him again, and certainly doesn't recognise him at first.

That's the easiest way I can think of it working, anyway.

Perhaps Ziio and Haytham are both omegas and they entered into a relationship anyway? Rare, but could and does happen.

OP now has the idea that Haytham goes into heat (forgets the suppressent, if he's taking one, for whatever reason) and Ziio - whatever her dynamic, she could even be a beta - helps him out so he doesn't get taken advantage of by any other alphas and can keep his secret (assuming that it is a secret, of course).
