Re: Screw the Timeline, I am Out of Fucks to Give AKA GuardianAngel!Desmond

same anon as just above. If someone else came along for the ride, also as a Guardian Angel - Clay or Lucy maybe, or both, that'd be FANTASTIC - and they helped the Auditore from time to time in their daily lives.

andandand! During the Reveal! I have a slightly different suggestion. When the backwash of light Reveals Desmond (and the others, if there's anyone with him), the Angel(s) don't notice it at first. The humans in the room decide, via some quick glances, to ignore the Angels, that's probably the polite thing to do.

Except then someone is looking for something and can't find it, and Desmond flutters down with his StupidHuge wings, pokes the thing they can't find, and pokes the searcher between the eyes. The searcher has to fight with themselves not to react, but keeps looking, and when they're looking in the right direction, their eyes are drawn directly to the object they were looking for. People in the room, watching this, make the connection that he/they /do/ help in their everyday lives, even if only in little ways.

Things go like that for a bit, with Desmond moving around the room helping here and there, and some of the people have tears in their eyes knowing they have an Angel helping them.

Eventually, the visibility fades out, and they can't see him anymore, but they know he's there. It's the little things that let them know.

Of course, one day Ezio or someone is ranting at someone about something while holding the Apple, and accidentally almost walks /through/ their Angel, which sets off a blinding reaction from the Apple, and suddenly their Guardian Angel is both visible /and/ physical in a way he wasn't last time.

Desmond would probably need to do something with his wings, if they're proportional on a human body they really would be stupidhuge.
