He’d tried not to feel this way. God help him, he’d tried. This was his nephew, Giovanni’s only surviving son. The last thing he needed was his uncle ruining his only safe haven. But he couldn’t help it. Even though he was young, there was an impossible strength in the boy. He could see it in the set of his shoulders; in the hard look in his eyes; even in those full lips, which were set stern whenever working. He loved those lips. It was all he could do not to reach out and touch them whenever Ezio laughed, or to press a kiss to the curious scar he bore.

He’d tried not to feel this way, but he’d failed. He had no excuse for pinning him against the wall and kissing those delightfully full lips. No excuse except for just how eagerly Ezio had responded.
