I'm really sorry, but I'm not familiar with what an "F4" really is. Could someone please explain that to me? Is it some kind of posse, or something?

F4 stands for flower-four.

Imagine a high school drama, where four of the richest (owning yachts, etc) and hottest guys have formed this little boyband. (but without the singing) They rule the school, essentially.

Then you have the a poor female, the weed of the elite school, who gets on their bad side. Cue bullying, until the head F4 guy decides he likes her attitude and they should start dating.

But, she likes the nice guy from F4, who comes to like her, but still mostly likes someone else. There's a lot of unrequited love drama. In the end, she gets together with the head F4 guy. the other two guys don't really matter

The 37 volume manga ran from 1992-2006. There's a 51 episode anime from 1996-1997. There's three live-action dramas: 2001 Taiwanese "Meteor Garden;" 2005 Japanese "Hana Yori Dango;" and 2009 South Korean "Boys over Flowers."

Oh, thank you; the sad thing is, I'm Korean, and I dun even know this (that's because I tend to not watch K-dramas; I spend too much time on vidgames).

Sounds cliche, but really fun to write! I wanna write this, but I procrastinate, so I can only sigh.

I know about it because one of my friends had the Meteor Garden dvd set. (Vic Zhou was hot shit)

It is pretty cliche shoujo stuff, but it's the good gratuitous type of chick flick cliche. I mean, the love interests are a big, tough arrogant guy who gets all confused by love and a quiet, sensitive artist of a man who is pining away. Girls eat that right up =)
