There is the technicality issue that a female ancestor cannot pass on genetic memory (eggs being formed along with the other reproductive organs, and thus unlikely to contain any new material).

But SECONDED! if a writer!anon can make it work.

Um... I don't know why women couldn't pass on genetic memories... In fact, I think there's proof that they CAN:

In Project Legacy, there are two women's memories being accessed: Fiora aka The Courtesan (Rome, Chapter 1) and Vanessa (Holidays, Chapter 1, Renegotiated).

Also, I think Lucy mention that one of the Subjects at Abstergo was pregnant? So technically, she DID have the genetic memories, if she was able to access them.

I have to agree with the above anon here.

Especially since the female egg is as much "new material" as previous anon put it, as the male sperm o_O I didn't really understand your point about it growing out of reproductive organs and whatnot (I mean, so did those little swimmers.)

Oh well. Pedantics.

I guess what anon above meant, and that is if I remember biology class correctly, that female eggs are produced altogether at one time (I forgot when, could be birth, could be puberty) and there is a limited supply whereas the male sperm can be produced at really any time.
I guess the reason is that since the egg already exists long before the conception takes place, it would then store less memory.
genetic memory =/= dna

dammit, I´m the op and I still like my idea -.-

I like your idea too. :)

Love the idea as well.

I think the above anon's point is that a woman's eggs are formed at the same time as her reproductive organs, during foetal development. No new eggs are formed during her lifetime, so it's hard to imagine how anything she experiences during her life could affect the DNA (and therefore genetic memories) already contained in those eggs.

By contrast, new sperm are continually formed throughout a man's life.

Whoops, must remember to refresh before posting comments.

In any case I still like the story idea, genetically impossibility or not. AC isn't exactly a great example of scientific accuracy, so who cares about the technicalities :p
