“Not all men are as chivalrous as you, Master Auditore. Especially the ones in Roma. Here we are,” she said. She knocked on the door twice before pushing it open, gesturing for Ezio to enter.

“Ah!” Leonardo said, rising from his seat. “Ezio! I was beginning to think you wouldn’t make it.”

Ezio shrugged. “I was being watched for a while. I had to give them the runaround before catching up to you.”

“Shout if you need anything, Leonardo,” Alessia said with a smile, before shutting the door gently.

Ezio was ushered into a seat by Leonardo, and the assassin was surprised at the luxury of the room. Several paintings in gilded frames hung on the walls; the carpet was plush and well cared for, and the furniture of the same, if not better, quality work as those in the bar – save that these were upholstered with beautiful fabric as well. Leonardo went to the cabinet on the wall to retrieve another glass for Ezio, poured him some wine and then settled on another chair opposite the assassin.

“How did you find this place?” Ezio said.

Leonardo chuckled. “A story for another time, I think. Do not think a glass of wine and a comfortable room has distracted me for why we are here.”
