The bird from the window [3/3]
(Anonymous) 2011-01-30 03:17 am (UTC)(link)He brushed his fingers lightly over Malik’s hair, pleased when the other man leaned into the touch, and smirked. “I might.”
“Well, I know where to pick my battles,” Malik huffed, escaping Altair’s grasp. He settled once more with his back against a pile of cushions, staring at some point on the opposite wall. “I hadn’t realized how much I missed singing—to someone, and not just myself,” he admitted, and sounded slightly bewildered by it.
Altair, still restless, looked at Malik, amused that he seemed at a lost for something so simple. “Then sing,” he said, “I will stay here.”
Malik pursed his lips, most likely wondering if he was going to be humoring himself or Altair. Eventually, the corner of his mouth quirked upwards and he asked, “What should I sing about?”
Altair paused, mind drawing a blank until a fluttering of cloth caught the corner of his eye. He turned to the window, feeling the breeze hit his face, cool and gentle.
“Sing for me about the wind,” he said, turning to brush his lips against Malik’s cheek. “And tell it thank you.”

(Anonymous) 2011-01-30 04:44 am (UTC)(link)Oh God, anon, that was ...that was really something else. Sorry for my pitiful vocab, but guh. My brain is completely shot and melted to the ground in a peaceful puddle of bliss.
This anon is also a voicephile, and you took my breath away right from the start with the voice on the wind. I am won over.
This is absolutely perfect as is, but if you wanted to expand on it, I'd love to read more of your writing.

(Anonymous) 2011-01-30 07:38 am (UTC)(link)I am equally happy that a fellow voicephile enjoyed it! Um, I haven't thought of a continuation, but now that you've mentioned it, my brain may have fired something off. If not, I'm pretty sure you'll run into me again on the meme, whether you want to or not, god knows I've snagged my fair share of fluffy Altair/Malik prompts, lol.

(Anonymous) 2011-01-30 07:05 am (UTC)(link)That one moment where Malik turns to Altair and sings only into his ear was so goddamn intimate I felt myself SIGH A HAPPY SIGH OUT LOUD. Oh gosh. Never stop writing these two.
