-Last bit-

Ezio returned to the bedroom without his assassin tunic and armour, with just his white shirt, brown trousers and boots on, his hair had been tied up with a red ribbon, and even the straightest male would admit Ezio was quite a sight. Luckily Ezio mistook the blush on Leonardo's cheeks with fever, while the blonde thanked for the meal Ezio brought with him.
Ezio bowed over him as he checked Leonardo's cheeks and forehead.
"Hrmm, no fever yet, but we'll have to check every now and then."
Leonardo sighed. "Ezio, I'll be fine."
"You better, but I'll do everything to ensure that." And without warning he pulled the blankets back and opened Leonardo's shirt. There was a bandage around his abdomen, and there was blood coming through, but only a little.
Ezio took a bowl of water, fresh bandages and a cloth to wash from the nightstand, and raised Leonardo's back so he was leaning on his shoulder. He carefully undid the bandages, as he had done so many times on himself. He used the cloth to wash the wound, not noticing Leonardo was enjoying the contact a lot, only wincing when Ezio touched to wound directly with the cloth. His grin was hidden in Ezio's broad shoulders. Had this been a complete different situation he wouldn't have been sure he would be able to contain his... luck. Ezio finished wrapping the fresh bandages and laid the blonde back on the bed.
"Are you alright, Leonardo?" Ezio tenderly asked. The blonde nodded eagerly. Sure he was in excruciating pain, but the sight of Ezio, worried sick, full attention on him, and his shirt showing every curve and muscle of his torso, was making thing infinitely more bearable.
"Ah but Ezio, I'm sorry, you must have more important things to do, and I got blood on your shirt!"

Ezio looked down, and noticed a smear of blood of the man he trusted most in his life on his shirt.
"Men who need knives in their back can wait, and shirts can be washed. Saving lives is more important then taking them, and I only take lives with the intention to save more." He unbuttoned his shirt and took it off. It was a good thing he was turned around, or he would've noticed another blush creeping up on Leonardo's cheek, which was still there when he turned around again.
Truly, Leonardo can not stress how a bare, toned back can make one feel as if he was not stabbed that same evening. You'll have to take his word on this.

"Leonardo, it still seems as if you're starting to have a fever!" Ezio said, and checked the blonde artist again. Funnily enough the artist was warm, but not hot like he would be if he had a fever.

"Ezio, again, I'm fine, or I will be, and right now, I'm happy you are here. I just hope I'm not a nuisance!" And he dared touching Ezio's bare torso with his fingertips, tracing one of the many scars adorning the tanned skin.
Ezio needed to honest. He had heard the rumors, and he had brushed them off as if untrue, but deep down he knew. He knew Leonardo was not interested in women and he knew his eyes would lit up around certain people. He knew he was one of them. He also knew Leonardo would never admit it, as he was afraid it'd damage their friendship.

But would it? He had never given the matter much thought, being busy with too many things at the same time. He loved the man, so much he knew, but was it the kind of love you have for a brother, a best friend, or the kind he used to feel for Christina. The one he thought he fell for a certain noblewoman from Forli.

Perhaps it was something inbetween? And he lowered his head and gave Leonardo a kiss on the forehead. "Please be safe while I'm out for a while, Leonardo. I'll be back within the hour to replace your bandages."

He took up his tunic and a dagger as he leapt out the hallway window. He would only need one to pay back the man who did this to his love, with interest.
A certain Venetian guard found the man who had stabbed da Vinci the next morning, but instead of notifying his superiors, he threw the man in the canals. They smelled horribly as it was, so it would make no difference. Before returning to his post he turned around and wondered how da Vinci was, but he was sure he would be fine, with such a man to look after him.

-I hope this is was anon was looking for, no smut, and I hope enough fluff.-

I'm glad you liked it! I wince at some bits, and would definitely find a beta next time. But all in all I just hope it's good enough!

My finger is healing, so all's good, I'm more worried about you! Less pain? Everything healing as it should be? Hope you get well soon, dear OP! If I could grant you a worried Ezio, I would, you deserve it!

Yeah I figured fever was quite a big deal back in the days, as it actually could kill you back then, so I guess Ezio would be more worried then people would nowadays!

It was great!! And you're right, fever was definitely something to be concerned about. It still is, in fact, because fever after a wound like that likely means infection. Of course, we have all sorts of ways to treat that nowadays, but it's still quite dangerous.

Infection leads to septic shock which is a freaky for the responding EMTs because the person's heart rate jumps up at the same time that their blood pressure plummets and you start an IV to try to get their blood pressure back up but it DOES NOT WORK.

Ahem. ...Yeah, it's not fun.
