I almost feel like it's inappropriate, how much you make me laugh. Because poor Desmond's so confused and in pain and (at least, so far as Haytham believes) recovering from 'torture' - but, damned if I'm not snickering the whole time!

I think if it wasn't funny, it would just be TOO angsty. I mean, Desmond's life has basically gone to shit over the course of a couple months. Now he's on the fast track to going crazy and/or committing suicide and/or getting killed by a global conspiracy. And NOW I'm throwing him into a war full of poor sanitation and crazy, murderous relatives.
