Killer Pigeons

Playing the game I keep thinking how insecure using pigeons would be as a source of communications, especially for sensitive information such as Assassination targets. But then again, they are Assassins, perhaps these are special pigeons, trained to survive arduous journeys evading birds or prey and Templars alike. Maybe the Assassins still use them today because they're better at getting secret messages across than any other communications device they have today.

Basically I want a fic focusing on Assassin Pigeons and how they kick ass. It can be with any of the protags, maybe they hate Altair and attack him whenever they see him (he became so good because he was always fighting them), maybe Desmond used them to alleviate his loneliness in the Farm, or how Haytham felt when the pigeons no longer responded to him. Any other ideas you may have would be loved as well.
