Achilles and Connor: Connor as a Tool of Achilles' Revenge

(Anonymous) 2014-12-31 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
SPOILERS FOR AC: ROGUE

So Haytham permanently crippled Achilles in the Artic Precursor site and made him give up being an assassin, which adds insult to injury that Shay betrayed him and the rest of the assassins. So what if Achilles' motivations for taking on Connor were driven by revenge? After all, what better way to get back at Haytham than to turn his own son against him and use Connor to utterly decimate the Templars? Basically, I want Dark!Achilles reveling in turning Connor against his father and using the boy to carry out his vengeance. Whether or not Connor is aware that he's being used and his reaction to finding out/realizing it is up to you.

I'd say this is not a "what if", but pretty much canon of AC3... Revenge may not have been the entire reason, but definitely one of deciding factors for Achilles to take on Connor.

True, I can see that. I just wanted to see a darker, way more manipulative Achilles who looks to purposely destroy Haytham by using his son against him and taking away the only good thing Haytham created. As I don't think he realized who Connor was initially, but still took him on. And Achilles could have molded Connor into being more willing to negotiate a truce between the two sides versus reinforcing that the Templars needed to be eradicated. Just various ideas I was bouncing around.
