To me it seems like even when we don't get a lot of new prompts here, much less fills, a lot of fic is still going on at AO3.

I'll try not to repeat myself too much from the Discussion thread if you haven't already read it, but for me the problem with Unity is that ultimately it's a story about Templars... which ends with the final boss going "LOLTEMPLARSWIN", and due to the Modern Times "ultimate domination of the Templars", he is well and utterly right.

I remember I used to say I wanted to learn a bit more about their point of view in the conflict, but we really have lost the presence of assassin ideals and the prioritisation of the Creed itself... which, you know, you'd think would be the primary focus, given the series' title.

One could say that Rogue parallels the post-Brotherhood games in the Assassins basically chucking the ideological struggle to the side in favor of competitive treasure hunting... which ironically inspired in my head a "Connor + Shay meet" plot bunny with an unamicable ending.

I think I will creep in on the discussion - never checked it out before.

(sunsetagain's AC art and stories are a treasure. I confess that I also like most of ChaoyuanXu's AC pieces solely for featuring a Chinese male Assassin as their main character instead of a posthumous background character...)
