Continuing Fill 3 - His Mother's Son

(Anonymous) 2013-03-05 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
Writing is based off of my old journals from when I was 8 years old. Kids can be surprisingly coherent, if utterly adorable, so figured that 8 was a good number of years to start at.

His Mother’s Son

Journal of Haytham Lee, age 8

Daddy asked me why I am writing, but I see Mommy doing it. And Mommy is the best person in the whole wide world! He tells the best stories with heroes with white hoods and knives that protect people. Or grumpy old men who train boys into heroes. I like those stories. They always make me feel good and happy.

Uncle Kanen'tó:kon also tells good stories, but they aren’t as good as Mommy’s. His stories are scarier. He tells stories about a pretty wolf and a man that took the wolf. He said that the man took the pretty wolf because he wanted to and was not good to the pretty wolf.

That’s not right. The man shouldn’t take the wolf just because he wanted to.

The man kept the wolf in a cage, but the wolf was smart and always tried to free himself. Uncle says that the wolf freed himself and ran away from the evil man, but he always looks sad when he says this.

Why is he sad? Is it because he wanted to protect the pretty wolf?

Mommy never likes it when Uncle tells me these stories, and they always yell at each other.

Daddy doesn’t know because they always speak in our special language and Daddy doesn’t know it.

I bet if Daddy knew, he’d punish the evil man for what he did to the pretty wolf!

Daddy likes Mommy, he tries to be with him all the time and always asks Mary to take care of me so he can have Alone Time with Mommy.

I want to spend Alone Time with Mommy and Daddy too, but no one ever lets me. They all say I’m not big enough.

I am too big enough! I can even spell very well. Mister Collins said so, and he’s a lawler!

Mommy is a wolf too. Uncle said so. He said that Mommy wanted to be an eagle, but that he was really a wolf. And Daddy likes Mommy so he must like wolfs too.

Daddy will save the pretty wolf.

But he doesn’t know about the pretty wolf because Uncle and Mommy told me not to tell him. They must be scared that the evil man will hurt Daddy.

Mommy tells me not to do a lot of things. Mommy writes these books that he says are called journals and hides them in a box.

I know because I found them.

Mommy was mad that I had found them.

He told me never to tell Daddy about them.

He said that Daddy would not like that Mommy writes.

But why would Daddy not like Mommy writing? They are pretty and all wrapped in pretty colors. They smell like paper and Mommy. I want to read them but Mommy said not to.

Mommy says that I must wait before I can read them.

He says he is saving those stories for me when I am bigger.

Not fair, I am big.

But maybe Mommy is scared that evil men will not like the stories and hurt him.

Mommy is a pretty wolf. Uncle said so.

But Daddy says I am a big boy.

Daddy and I will protect Mommy.

And evil men won’t put Mommy in a cage.

The sudden switch to first person is interesting, especially with young Haytham who is very naive and innocent at this point in his life. I love the stories of the caged wolf and the Assassins Connor and Uncle Kanon are telling him behind Charles' back. My favorite part has to be Daddy and Mommy's constant 'Alone Time' and ooh lil' Haytham would be quite the cock block. I do hope Grandpa Haytham is still around, would love to read about his reaction to these stories.

Oh Grandpa Haytham...yes, I think he'll be around, but since it's all Haytham Lee's journal, it will be through, shall we say, filtered eyes. He'll live for a few years yet, but he'll die, of old age if nothing else.

Haytham Lee is a cute cock block though. Hehe

Okay was wondering, since this story only takes place a few years after the game ends and Haytham was in excellent health before you had to kill him. I was also trying to work out the timeline in my head.

1776 - Connor and Charles are married maybe before or after the Declaration of Independence signing (Connor at the time is still 19, cause in my headcanon he's a Sagittarius). Charles goes off to lead the Patriots in the war and during the last six months of the year Connor has his miscarriage.

1777 - Charles is crowned King of the new independent nation. Connor spends 11 months in an insensate state, until he wakes sometime in the winter where he's eight months pregnant.

1778 - Haytham Lee is born

1784 - Haytham Lee starts writing his journal

1796 - Haytham Lee is inducted into the Templar Order. Later on The Inner Circle falls under a terminal disease and die within the year

Okay brain, enough distractions - need to get back to writing that 3 day smut fest for Charles (first part is almost done!)

Roughly yes. I rounded when it came to describing the months and stuff so there's probably an extra month or two in there that's not accounted for 'cause whenever someone says 11 months, they might mean 11.4 months or when they say 5 months, they might meant 5.3 months or something like that.

Will probably have Haytham Sr. die when little Haytham is roughly 12. Connor miscarries again when he's roughly 12.5 or 13 (haven't quite decided).

Poking my head out from under my rock to just tell you how excited and happy I am for this part of the fill. Really really can't wait to see where you go with this. (Also thank you so much for adding in Kanen since no one seems to like to write bout him and it makes me sad)

Back to quietly lurking and checking daily for updates. Loving this AU so much.

His Mother’s Son

Journal of Haytham Lee, age 9

Today was a good day. Mommy and Daddy took me to visit Uncle Kanen'tó:kon and his village! Uncle Kanen'tó:kon always has fun things for me to do.

Today, he gave me a trap and taught me how to catch animals! I caught a rabbit, all by myself!

It was very small and furry and soft, and it cried before Uncle taught me how to kill it.

Its eyes were big and round. It looked scared.

Uncle says that the best way is to kill it before it knew that it was caught. Then it won’t be scared.

He says that it is mean to hurt something for a long time and if you don’t let it go, you should kill it quickly.

Uncle looked weird when he said that. Like he was thinking about the pretty wolf that the evil man took.

Uncle must have loved the wolf a lot.

He says that wolfs are very smart and good hunters. But no one is a better hunter than Uncle!

He’s the bestest! He even caught a bear, and we’ll be eating bear tonight!

Uncle said that Mommy had taught him how to hunt when they were both littler.

Silly Uncle.

Doesn’t he know that Daddy never lets Mommy near the forest? Daddy says he’s afraid that Mommy will get lost and never return.

The forest is big. And scary when Uncle isn’t with me.

I don’t want Mommy to get lost in the forest and never return.

Maybe Mommy won’t get lost if Uncle is with him?

But Daddy doesn’t like Uncle. He says that Uncle wants to spread Mommy’s legs.

Why would Uncle want to spread Mommy’s legs? Mommy can poop on his own, not like Mr. Collin’s new baby.

I don’t like Mr. Collin’s new baby. He looks weird. All small and loud and pink.

But Mommy says that all babies are that way and that I was that way too.

Nuh-uh! Not Grandpa!

He’s all big and strong and quiet.

But Grandpa tells very sad stories.

He says that there once was an eagle and that the eagle had a good and kind mommy and a wise daddy. But then a bad man killed the nice mommy and the wise daddy thought that he had killed the eagle too.

The little eagle was all alone and left his nest. But more bad men found the eagle and tricked him. They made him kill nice people and spread chaos.

Grandpa always looks around when he says this. He must be scared that Mommy will be mad at him for telling me sad stories.

The eagle’s daddy found out, but he couldn’t save the eagle. The eagle had been too bad for him to save. So he and his friend caught the eagle and kept it in a nice house.

But then the eagle got sick. He fell into a deep sleep and couldn’t wake and the daddy was very scared because he thought the eagle was gonna die.

Grandpa always looks sad at this and stares at Mommy when he’s not looking.

Maybe Mommy was sick before he had me?

Grandpa says that the eagle woke up but lost his wings.

How do eagles lose their wings? Wouldn’t they die?

But the eagle got better and lived in the house with his daddy’s friend. And they had a little eagle after!

Eagles are pretty. I want to be an eagle when I grow up!

OMG The cuteness! You write little Haytham so well. I love that Kanen'tó:kon is teaching him how to use snares, and babysitting him while Connor and Charles are probably handling negotiations. Should have known Charles would tag along, even if he doesn't like natives - still has to remember that his wife is half mohawk and his sin is a quarter.

But Daddy doesn’t like Uncle. He says that Uncle wants to spread Mommy’s legs.

Yeesh Charles, still jealous and possessive after all this time. Then again, it must be hard having an insanely hot spouse. I doubt Connor regained all that muscle he lost being asleep for a year, and is probably still really small and slim.

Why would Uncle want to spread Mommy’s legs? Mommy can poop on his own, not like Mr. Collin’s new baby.

Awww, so Clipper is a mommy to now, but with the age difference I doubt the child will be Haytham's subordinate.

But more bad men found the eagle and tricked him. They made him kill nice people and spread chaos.

Heh, Connor is both the pretty wolf who got away and bad eagle who became wingless. At least these stories will stick with Haytham until he grows old enough to realize they're both the same story: his mother's.

Kind of interested to hear Charles' version of the story, and wonder if Haytham is close to the family pets (heh Yusuf and his pom army)

Re: Continuing Fill 3 - His Mother's Son 2

Glad you like little Haytham's voice. :) He was tricky to write (haven't been 9 in a long time, lol), but should get easier as he grows older. Adolescence should be...interesting. Especially given the timeline.

Funny you should mention Yusuf and the pom army... :D

Charles will probably let Connor train lightly, but not as much as he used to. He knows that he's past his prime but Connor is still relatively young (age gap and all). He's still paranoid about losing his Omega and majorly possessive, but he's not going to jeopardize Connor's health again. I imagine that he'd limit the exercise to certain things (sex counts).

His Mother’s Son

Journal of Haytham Lee, age 10

Something happened today! Something great!

Rosa gave birth to a litter of puppies and Daddy said that one of them would be mine!

My own puppy!

He’s still little and his face is smushed and he doesn’t have a lot of hair, but Daddy said that he’ll get bigger. Daddy said that he’ll grow a yellow and brown coat soon and be very soft and cute.

I’m going to name him Spado. Daddy’s dog was also called Spado, but Spado got old and died.

He was a good dog. I want my puppy to be just like him!

I always gave him my vegetables. I don’t like vegetables. They don’t taste good.

Yusuf caught me though. He always stares at me and won’t let me give my vegetables away anymore.

But I like Yusuf.

He’s big and strong and he always protects Mommy.

If I don’t grow up to be an eagle, I want to be Yusuf!

Yusuf doesn’t like Daddy much though. He always sneaks into the house and steals Daddy’s food.

Daddy doesn’t like Yusuf either. I think he wants to cook him.

Mommy won’t let him.

He says that if Daddy cooks him, he’ll never let him near him again and Daddy likes kissing Mommy so he doesn’t cook Yusuf.

Daddy is strange around Mommy. He’s always trying to kiss him.

Maybe Mommy tastes sweet like strawberries?

I like strawberries. They taste good with cream.

I think Daddy likes berries too, especially cherries. Sometimes when I sneak to Mommy’s room and the door is locked, I hear Daddy saying that Mommy is still as sweet as when he had his cherry.

How did Mommy lose his cherry? Did Daddy eat it?

I asked Daddy about Mommy’s cherry yesterday, but Daddy turned red and wouldn’t tell me.

I think he must have eaten it.

Daddy is very strange sometimes. His stories are not as good as Mommy’s or as scary as Uncle’s or as sad as Grandpa’s. But they are still good.

Daddy likes to tell stories about a dog named Charlie. The dog was the same kind of dog as Spado, and he was a good dog! He had a master who had the same name as me!

One day, Charlie found a very bad dog who caused a lot of trouble and hurt his friends. Charlie and his master were very mad at the dog, but then Charlie found out that the bad dog was his master’s son.

I always ask Daddy how a dog can be the son of a man, but he never tells me.

Charlie is a smart dog. And he found out that the bad dog liked a rat. Charlie knew that his master was sad about his son being so bad, so he caught the rat and told the bad dog that he would listen and be good or he would drown the rat.

The bad dog must have really liked the rat because he listened to Charlie.

Daddy says that Charlie and the bad dog didn’t get along at first, but then the bad dog got sick. When Charlie saw that the bad dog was sick, he felt sad and was nicer to him.

The bad dog got better and Daddy says that the dogs are still learning to be nicer to each other but that it is hard and the bad dog still does naughty things sometimes.

I asked Daddy why Charlie and the bad dog are still together if the bad dog is still bad. But he says that the bad dog is special and that Charlie likes him.

Daddy likes Mommy like that too. Mommy fights with Daddy sometimes, but Daddy never wants to let Mommy alone.

Charlie must like the bad dog like that.

Aaaw RIP Spado, but I'm glad Yusuf is still around and causing Charles grief by sneaking into the house and stealing his food LOL

How did Mommy lose his cherry? Did Daddy eat it?

I asked Daddy about Mommy’s cherry yesterday, but Daddy turned red and wouldn’t tell me.

I think he must have eaten it.

This whole part killed me. Poor Haytham is going to be so mortified when he grows up and starts remembering all these innuendos that flew over his head. All of them directed at his poor mother who is both the 'bad eagle' and the 'bad dog' in his father and grandfather's stories.

Kind of wondering what the 'naughty' things Connor is still doing that upsets Charles so much. BTW, has Connor been reunited with Stephane and Deborah?

Poor Haytham is going to be so mortified when he grows up and starts remembering all these innuendos that flew over his head.

That's the beauty of journals. You look over them 8-20 years later, and you're like...what was I thinking? Lol. Although I imagine future Haytham would probably not want to think of his mom like that...

Connor has definitely been reunited with Stephane and Deborah, and they will feature soon. :)

Warning: domestic abuse triggers, Charles's temper

His Mother’s Son

Journal of Haytham Lee, age 10 and a half

Mommy and Daddy are fighting now. They fought before, but this is worse.

Daddy sounds really mad and he.

He hit Mommy.

He’s never hit Mommy before.

I’m scared.

Mommy’s bleeding, but he still looks so angry and Daddy’s saying sorry but he’s still angry too and Mommy’s bleeding and what if Mommy dies and I don’t want Mommy to die.

I’m really, really scared.

Daddy’s saying that Mommy’s a bakste-backstabbing hor (what’s a hor?), but why is he saying that? Mommy didn’t do anything. We played the whole day and Mr. Stephane and Miss Deborah came to visit and I don’t know why Daddy’s saying back things about Mommy.

Mommy didn’t do anything Daddy. Only Mr. Stephane and Miss Deborah came to visit, and you always let them come over before.

Is it because you were away today when they came? But that’s not Mommy’s fault! You were holding court!

And Mr. Stephane and Miss Deborah aren’t bad people, Daddy. They’re weird and have limps ‘cause Mommy says their knees were cut (why would someone cut their knees?), but they’re not bad.

They wouldn’t hurt me Daddy. They never hurt me before. Why are you saying that?

They just came over to talk to Mommy, and it’s not Mommy’s fault that you were away today.

Stop hurting Mommy!

Mommy’s bleeding from his nose and mouth, and I’m scared.

I’m scared of you, Daddy.

Mommy...

Mommy only talked to Mr. Stephane and Miss Deborah. Why are you saying that he was gonna leave?

He wasn’t!

He wouldn’t do that.

He wouldn’t leave me.

He loves me. He said so.

So don’t hurt Mommy anymore, Daddy.

Please don’t hurt Mommy.

Ack! My Heart! Was expecting domestic violence, but little Haytham's fear and helplessness of watching his mother being abused was just heart wrenching. Kind of wondering what triggered the 'backstabbing whore' bit from Charles. Were Stephane and Deborah (glad they're still alive but their knees were cut? Yeeeouch those evil Templars) trying to convince Connor to leave?

I wonder who Haytham confides to other than his journal, maybe Clipper or Grandpa Haytham?

Re: Continuing Fill 3 - His Mother's Son 4

(Anonymous) 2013-03-08 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely not Grandpa Haytham. He's still a loyal Templar and don't even want to think how that would have been very, very bad...

Little Haytham confides in Yusuf and the dogs actually. And sometimes to his Mommy. He's a more...isolated little boy because of who he is and who is father is.

And given Charles's paranoia, he severely restricts his wife and son from meeting with elements that could sway them away (hence the anger at Stephane and Deborah showing up).

Stephane and Deborah know that it's difficult for Connor to leave, so they don't even try. They offer advice to Connor, at the most, in how to counter his husband's influence on little Haytham, affairs of state that they stand opposed to, but that Connor may be able to change and so on.

Charles is paranoid about Connor disappearing though and taking Haytham with him, so he blew up the moment he saw that the two were visiting without him around.

//pets Haytham and Connor//

Poor babies...

Oh? Now I'm curious

They offer advice to Connor, at the most, in how to counter his husband's influence on little Haytham, affairs of state that they stand opposed to, but that Connor may be able to change and so on.

Ahh, it's nice to know that the they're still Assassins at heart if not it body.

Charles is paranoid about Connor disappearing though and taking Haytham with him, so he blew up the moment he saw that the two were visiting without him around.

Makes sense, Connor did scare him when he woke up and mentioned disappearing and Charles freaked out and was not afraid to start the biggest manhunt in the country in order to hunt and cage Connor if he and their child ever ran away.

Re: Continuing Fill 3 - His Mother's Son 4

(Anonymous) 2013-03-08 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
Remember the stories that Connor likes to tell little Haytham as a bedtime story? About heroes with white hoods and knives that protect people and old grumpy men training boys into heroes?

That would so not be kosher with Grandpa Haytham. He wants his grandson to be a Templar. And he's smart enough to know that our bedtime stories and youthful beliefs affect us a lot when we grow up, even if we know it's wrong.

Our Assassins will never stop being Assassins. :) Clipper's wedded to James, Connor is trapped by Charles, Stephane and Deborah were intentionally hurt to cripple their ability to actively be Assassins...but they've all learned that there are other ways of fighting, ones more subtle than pure strength and action. They'll never stop being Assassins. :)

//hugs the Assassins//

His Mother’s Son

Journal of Haytham Lee, age 10 and a half

I’m a bad boy. I’m a very, very, very bad boy.

Mommy says that I’m a good boy, but he’s wrong.

Good boys don’t lie, and I lied.

I lied to Grandpa yesterday.

Daddy said he felt bad about hitting Mommy. He was nicer to Mommy. He even got Mommy Mommy’s favorite foods and let Mommy see Mr. Clipper and Mr. Stephane and Miss Deborah.

Miss Deborah and Mr. Stephane and Mr. Clipper got very mad when they saw that Mommy was hurt. They yelled at Daddy and told Daddy that he was a bad man.

Daddy looked very mad, and I thought he was gonna hit Mommy again, but he didn’t. He didn’t even hit Miss Deborah or Mr. Stephane or Mr. Clipper. He looked like he wanted to, but he didn’t.

Daddy really was nicer to Mommy.

But I’m still scared of him.

Mommy’s face has a black bump on it, and Mommy has to be careful when he eats now. He’s only eating soup and Doctor White says that it will take more than a week before Mommy is all better.

Grandpa came over too, and he was really mad.

He took Daddy to Daddy’s office and said some very scary things.

I wasn’t supposed to follow them, but everyone was so mad, and I was scared for Daddy so I followed them.

Daddy closed the door, but I listened anyways and I could hear.

Grandpa didn’t raise his voice or hit Daddy like Daddy hit Mommy but he did something worse.

He made Daddy cry.

He said that he trusted Daddy with Mommy and me and he said that if Daddy was mean again, he’d take Mommy and me away from Daddy.

Grandpa is scary when he’s mad.

I don’t know if I want to leave Daddy yet.

Daddy is scary. He hit Mommy and Mommy is really hurt, but.

But he’s my Daddy.

And he’s sorry.

Please don’t take us away, Grandpa.

They caught me at the door.

Grandpa looked sad and Daddy looked sad too.

I’m still scared.

Daddy is scary. Grandpa is scary. Only Mommy isn’t scary.

I think I was crying because Grandpa knelt down used his blue cloak to wipe at my cheeks.

He asked me if I was scared of Daddy.

And even though I was, I said no.

I’m a bad boy.

I don’t want him to take me away.

I don’t want to leave Daddy.

Grandpa, don’t make Mommy and me leave Daddy.

Daddy’s sorry. Honest.

Daddy won’t hurt Mommy again. So you don’t have to take us away.

He's just too adorable.

I also love how grandpa Haytham finally gets involved (does he like have spies in the Lee household?) and makes Charles cry. Yeeesh where was daddy!Haytham when Charles was raping his son practically every day after their wedding?

Well, I do hope things get a little better in the Lee household, for Connor and Haytham's sakes

Grandpa Haytham, I think, has strange ideas. Like many in those times, he looked upon the husbands who beat their wives with disdain. Also like many others in those times, he had no concept of spousal rape.

But yes, Haytham would definitely have spies. :D He's too paranoid not to. :)

I don’t think I like being 11. There are Omegas in court, and they look at me funny. They run off together and whisper and giggle and it’s very weird.

Mommy is an Omega, but he’s not weird. Why can’t the other Omegas be more like Mommy?

Father saw that the Omegas were acting weird around me today and asked Mr. Davies to come talk to me.

I don’t want Mr. Davies to ever come talk to me again.

Girl Omegas are strange. They don’t have a thing.

And boy Omegas are stranger.

...Do they really like that thing being put there?

Isn’t that unsanitary?

And Alphas are even stranger! Mr. Davies said that we’re supposed to really like putting that thing into, into an Omegas’s...

Gross.

Gross, gross, gross.

Mr. Davies laughed at me. He said that I’ll change my mind later, in a couple of years, and that I’ll come to appreshappreciate Omegas more. He said that I’m Daddy’s son and that, even though Daddy is inxp inexplik inexplicably loyal to his wife, he’s got a healthy appetite.

I asked Mr. Davies what does food had to do with this gross thing, but he just laughed at me again.

I don’t like Mr. Davies. He’s always laughing at me.

Mr. Edwards was even worse though.

Mr. Edwards was on guard duty, and he said that, that...

He said that it wasn’t a surprise that Daddy liked Mommy so much because Mommy was, was...

Mr. Collins taught me to use quotations when writing down what other people said so I’m going to try it here.

I don’t know what a “good fuck” or a “fine piece of arse” are, but Mommy’s Mommy. Mommy’s the best in the world and not a piece of anything! He’s Mommy!

Daddy got mad at me because I hit Mr. Edwards. He says that only ruffians hit people.

I don’t think that’s fair. Daddy’s not a ruffian but he’s hit people before. He even hit Mommy, and Mommy didn’t even do anything wrong.

I have to apologize to Mr. Edwards.

I don’t want to.

He’s a bad, bad man.

Daddy says I shouldn’t have hit Mr. Edwards, but I did and I’m not sorry.

He shouldn’t say bad things about Mommy.

Little Haytham is still super cute even if he's getting older and Davies has to give him the sex talk. Love how he defends Connor's honor and punches Edwards who so deserves it. I take it Charles is already Grandmaster of the Templars now? With all the work he has to do with being King and being leader of the Templars, how much time does he have with his family now?

Also, has Connor and Grandpa explained to little Haytham how Eagle Vision works? I think Haytham might have eventually told Ziio about his power, and she probably tells Connor as a child (who uses it effectively through hide and seek in order to spot clues easily). Would be interesting to see little Haytham use it in court one day and actually see red in the sea of blue people.

Something really neat happened today!

Mommy and I were playing hide-and-seek with everyone. Well, except Daddy. Daddy’s always at court now. Mommy said that some of the farmers had revolted (Mommy said that means that they don’t like Daddy), and everyone was worried because the money they were using kept getting smaller.

I don’t understand it. Is the money shrinking? How does it keep getting smaller?

I’ll have to ask Grandpa about it. He’s really smart.

But anyways, while Mommy and I were playing hide-and-seek with the servants and Yusuf and Spado and the other dogs and it was my turn to find everyone, something amazing happened.

My eyes felt itchy and strange and everything went all gray and blue.

Spado left a print on the rug, and I found him easily. One of Yusuf’s feathers had dropped next to a closet door, and I found him easily too.

I found everyone really quickly and really easily.

It was so neat!

Mommy said that it was something called Eagle Vision, and that it would help me find my friends and understand things better. He said that I should practice it by concentrating on that funny feeling I sometimes get because it will help me in the future.

The future seems really far away and I don’t really like to think about it, but if Mommy says I should practice, then I will practice it.

Mommy’s blue when I’m using Eagle Vision. He’s a very pretty blue. I like that blue.

Yusuf is blue too and so is Spado. The other dogs are gray.

I asked Mommy why they were gray, and Mommy said that it was because they’re animals.

I don’t understand, though. Spado and Yusuf are animals, too, but they’re blue!

Mommy said it was because Spado and Yusuf are more and that they love me. That’s why they’re blue.

The servants were light blue and Mr. Edwards is pink.

Mommy said that people who I like and want to help me are blue. People who don’t care are white, and people who I don’t like and don’t like me back are red.

I guess Mr. Edwards is probably still mad about me hitting him.

Well, I don’t like him either.

Journal, there’s something I have to tell you.

Mommy told me not to, but I have to tell someone, and...

I used Eagle Vision on Mommy, and I saw something strange.

Mommy’s tummy was...it was glowing blue. More blue than the rest of him.

I told Mommy about it after, and he turned very pale.

He ran to Daddy’s office and wrote a letter and asked Mary to send the letter to Doctor White.

And then he told me not to speak of it to Daddy or to anyone else.

He said he needed Doctor White first.

And I promised.

But, but I’m worried. What if Mommy’s sick. What if it was a sickness that I saw in Mommy?

So I had to write to you Journal.

I hope Mommy will be okay.
