Pain - oneshot

The light from the computer screen illuminates the area around his desk and that is where he finds the blade, tucked under a stack of newspapers and coffee stained articles. The blade lays hidden in plain sight, which is an ingenious idea. If someone were to happen upon the blade, Shaun could claim that he’d started being cautious now that the Templars were doubling their efforts of finding them. With the blade being so obvious, no one could really suspect that he was hiding something.

The hum of the computer gives him an odd feeling of comfort and security. It’s a constant sound in his life, often accompanied by the sound of him typing and no matter what happens and no matter where the team goes, he can rest assured that his role will always stay the same. The historian. He suspects he will go mental the day he can no longer do his research but that day is far away. There is always something that needs to be doing and as long as the war rages between the assassins and the Templars, people will rely on Shaun.

He sighs and leans back where he sits. The others are (presumably) asleep and it’s under the cover of darkness that he dares do it. He picks up the blade, weights it in his hand, turning it this way and that and just lets his fingers slide over the slick metal. It feels good. The metal is cool against his skin and a pleased sound escapes his lips.

The first time had been an accident and the second time a curiosity. The third time, well, it had been the beginning of a habit. Shaun leans back in the recliner chair as he poises the blade in his dominant hand. His hand is steady as he brings the blade to his stomach. Thin scars, some faded and some not, runs across the now exposed flesh and just watching them feels good.

He pauses, taking a deep breath before a quick flick of his wrist has a new wound seeping with red drops. The pain sets in and Shaun feels the tension in his body melt away. The cutting calms him, helps him relax. He knows though, that no matter how good it is for him and how good it makes him feel, he must keep it a secret from the others. Emotional pain and stress is not something he would have been able to control before but now he has found that endorphins wash away that sort of pain. For a small price of course. Nothing comes for free in this world. If he brings pain to his flesh, the emotional pain washes away and Shaun can chose when and where and how he want to bring that pain upon himself. He control it. The cutting gives him control in a world where there is none. For all his eloquence though, Shaun doesn’t know how to put it in words it so that the others would understand.

He brings the blade to his flesh once more, knowing that it won’t be the last time tonight.

Ezio/Rosa

What if Leonardo is a templar?

I know this idea may sound ridiculous, but please give me a chance to explain before stabbing me. I have had this idea since I finished the game and began to look for historical article and movies about Leonardo. And here is what I've found: after Leonardo left Venice, he stayed a very shot period of time at Florence. Then he went to Rome to work for the Pope (Cesare Borgia, the son of Rodrigo Borgia, yeah I think you are beginning to get my idea here). If Rodrigo Borgia was cruel, Cesare Borgia was way beyond his father. So why did Leonardo worked for such a person? Some article said it was because Leonardo had interest in Cesare's special personality, cruel but also powerful enough to gain respect from the people around him. But this is not the only evidence that makes me keep having the idea for month. When Leonardo left Rome, he went back to Florence and stayed for a while. Then he went to southern France and died "in the arm of King France I". According to the background setting of ACII, one of the most powerful base of templars happened to be at southern France. What a coincidence!
But what if Leonardo knew everything about assassins and templars from the very beginning, but he had not made the decision to be ally to either side. He wanted to get close to someone in the secret battle, to observe and made the whole situation more "interesting" at the right time. For example, before the last battle of ACII? After Ezio entered the Vault, listened to the lady's speech which didn't make any sense to him. Then Leonardo followed him into the Vault...
The rest is up to you Anon. Please make this idea become a story. If Leonardo gets top, it would be great for me. After got hit by this idea and finished reading ACII's novel, it's hard for me to let the wise and powerful Leonardo who may behind all incident become submissive.
