Oh my god, now that someone has said it, it seems so obvious! I always wondered why he wore that baggy hoodie ALL THE TIME. He must always be cold. And it would definitely hide the weight loss.

And if you think about it, all his ancestors have a reason to fast.

Altair does it as a control exercise. He lived in an age where it seems like people would do that and it not be a big deal.
Ezio wants to stay pretty, because he has replaced real affection with sex, or perhaps Leonardo has commented on how his figure is amazing to draw.
Haytham fasts to be closer to God.

Connor was walking down the street when he saw a dog sitting near a market stall filled with fruit. Being who he was, Connor didn't even hesitate to crouch down next to the creature and reach his hand out. "Hi boy," he said gently, patting at his head.

He was startled when another hand fell on his. Looking up, Connor saw an older man. He was dressed in fine clothes, his greying hair pulled back into a ponytail, eyes sharp as a hawk's. He seemed just as startled as Connor, removing his hand immediately.

"My apologies," he spoke, in an accent Connor easily defined as British. "I was distracted and..." He waved the piece of fruit in his hand pointedly. Obviously he'd been only paying half attention to the dog when he reached over to scratch his head.

"It's alright," Connor answered, rising to his feet. The man didn't seem startled by the fact he spoke English, nor put off by his native appearance. That was certainly a change.

The man bowed his head a bit appreciatively. He turned to the vendor, paying for two apples, before promptly crouching and offering one up to the dog. Happy as could be, the mongrel took hold of it, tail batting the ground in enthusiasm. "There you are," the stranger spoke, scratching behind the dog's ear. He took a bite of his own apple before glancing up at Connor who still stood there watching him curiously. "Care for one yourself?" he offered.

Connor shook his head. "No." After a moment he decided to add, "Thank you."

The man only smiled, patting the dog one last time before standing. "Well, good day then."

As he started to walk off, Connor moved to catch up. He fell into stride with the stranger, looking over at him. "Why did you do that?" The man raised a brow. "Give food to that dog. Most of you just walk by creatures like that, let alone share a meal."

"Most of you?" the man inquired with a quirk of his lips. Connor flushed a bit in embarrassment as he looked away- he hadn't meant it like that. The stranger cut him a break though with a gentle laugh. "I jest with you. I simply like animals, nothing more." As he said it, he patted another stray they came across.

Connor smiled softly, his own hand reaching over to scratch under the dog's chin. It meant though that he had stepped into the stranger's personal space. Usually that would have sent him reeling, but something about the man's presence was actually calming rather than setting off alarm bells. He looked over to find the other smiling as well.

"Haytham," he spoke, offering his hand.

Despite not being one for physical contact, he accepted the man's hand. "Connor."

"I don't suppose I could pronounce your given name, hmm?" Haytham spoke in amusement, continuing on his way.

Connor only smiled wider. "It would be amusing for you to try."

That made Haytham laugh and Connor admitted it was a nice sound. "I believe I'll stick to Connor. It suits you I think." Before Connor could reply, Haytham tossed the half-eaten apple up and the younger man snatched it from the air easily. Haytham winked as he said, "Eat up. Could use some more meat on your bones."

Connor only smiled, biting into the fresh fruit. He had the feeling there was much more than met the eye with this one, but he certainly wouldn't mind getting to know this Haytham better.

Haytham & or / Connor - Raising Connor

An AU where Haytham finds out he has a son and goes to the Mohawk village BEFORE its destruction, finding out Ziio is dead. Haytham meets his son and he gives him the English name Connor. It’s a rocky road but the pair start to bond. Haytham doesn’t live in the village but comes to visit regularly. On an occasion he’s away is when the attack happens and most of the natives killed. Haytham returns after the slaughter, finding Connor covered in blood and in shock. He takes Connor away and tries to repair the mental and physical damage the best he can. (Optional: Years later now, Connor is a grown man, working alongside his father- writer’s choice if he’s a Templar or if Haytham left them, perhaps even joining the Assassins.)

Haytham/Connor - AU

Having just returned to Boston, Haytham finds out what’s going down and rushes off to stop it- he still has no clue about Connor’s existence. He arrives too late, the village burned, most of the natives slaughtered. But he does find Charles with his hands around a young man’s throat. Haytham kills him as an example to the other Templars. The man he saved doesn’t seem too grateful and Haytham can’t help but notice his half-breed features and is shocked when he speaks English. (Ziio is already dead, perhaps at the hands of Templars. Optionally, it’s discovered that it was Charles- potentially out of jealousy, or disgust at Haytham’s fascination with a native woman- and he targeted Connor for the same reason.)

Hello,

I’m posting this here, to call you to mercy and coherence. I used to be here (and many other forums) almost every day, readily reading post after post and one story after another. But after sometime I came to the conclusion that I was an hypocrite.

I began to reflect about this site and it’s content (NOTE: SOME OF IT, I am aware not all stories are like that). If something like this (I mean rape, incest, sexual slavery, mind control, etc) happened to me, would I be happy? I don’t think so, no. Would I be happy that it happened to other people? Not at all, not even a person I disliked. So then WHY I was here reading this? How could I enjoy it?

Do you know that mind control really exist, like, for real? Have you read about MK Ultra? That there are people really suffering sexual slavery, who have serious identity problems, who don’t know who they are? Those people are being tortured, they can’t reach their families, or maybe their family was the one that has done this to them. I can’t really imagine how much this people is suffering. But we don’t have to go too far and extreme! How about something more common? How about abuse? Rape? Incest? Torture? Personally, I wouldn’t be glad to be in those situations.

Then why do we seek what we hate? Why do we enjoy it? Now, I am directing my speech-thing to average people who really do hate this stuff. If you are a masochist, have a mental illness or you DO enjoy this things, condone them and would practice them anytime (or have been a victim), then please be not offended I am not directing this to you. I am not in your situation so I can’t really know. But I am guessing at least ONE person here would not like to be in this type of situations or inflict them on someone else in real life. So why read, write and ask for stories about it? Was the Roman Circus nice? Was it humane? Was it approvable? This is the same thing! Because even if its not real people, our intentions are the same! To enjoy the adrenaline and emotions without being hurt or responsible for anything!

I am saying this to you because I really think that incoherence makes people unhappy and I don’t want you to be so. If we believe in the good thing, but act not on it, live by it, surely we will be unhappy. I am certain of that.

So, in short: If you would be glad that your (hypothetical) own son or daughter would be a victim of rape, incest, mind control, abuse, torture, etc. and/or would be ready to participate in that, then this message is not directed to you. But if your answer is not, please reflect and allow yourself a life free of this in every way, including fiction.

I hope you don’t get offended, as it is not my intention. I know this speech-thing is very simplistic in comparison to all of the situations of everyone here but, I am willing to give it a try.

Connor and Babysitter Templars: What To Do With Hiccups?

Going with the structure of child!Connor being raised by his father and babysat by the members of the Inner Circle, I have a request I'd like to see happen: Basically, Haytham is away on Templar business and Connor is being looked after by some of the other Templars when it starts, that being hiccups. The other Templars do what they can to help widdle Connor get rid of the epidemic but it goes on all day, and everyone starts to despair.
Would like to see:
Hickey being an arse of course, and perhaps purposely giving out bad advice at first, just to amuse himself.
Johnson and Pitcairn trying to be patient but finding themselves exhausted near the end.
Charles being the impatient prick that he is, and perhaps even yells at chibi!Connor to go deal with it himself.
Church being indifferent and perhaps ignores Connor entirely.
And Connor, oh baby!Connor, starts crying in the midst of his hiccups near the end.
It would also be pretty funny if the hiccups stopped entirely after Haytham comes home.
This is kind of inspired by an episode from Azumanga Daioh! in which Osaka has the hiccups and everyone is trying to cure them.

Werewolf AU - Altair/Malik or Haytham/Connor

Anon is a sucker for Werewolf AU. Up to filler who all in the assassins are werewolves (could be shapeshifters rather than traditional werewolves instead if preferred). Would like to see pack dynamics, instinctual wolf behavior (marking, scenting, etc), and bonus points for protective/possessive behavior! Can have A/B/O elements as well if the filler likes. Want it to stick to one time period or the other though- not an AU mashup where all the ancestors are somehow in the same time period.
